Gala Night at Marriott Sugar Land
Held on January 23rd, 2015
Bangladesh Association, Houston, hosted a second annual Multicultural Gala to celebrate 36 years anniversary of the organization in the city of Houston. This Gala was held at the Marriott Town Center, Sugar Land on Friday, Jan 23, 2015. Mayor Annise Parker declared Jan 23, 2015 as Bangladesh-American Center Day. Gala Keynote was delivered by H.E Mohammad Ziauddin, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States. Gala night was chaired by CEO of Stratum Energy Mr. Qasim Sharif who delivered a memorable speech to build a strong America. On behalf of Mayor Annise Parker Councilman Jack Christie and Councilman Richard Nguyen presented Honorary Citizenship Certificate to the Ambassador. Welcome speech was delivered by Chairman of the Bangladesh Association Mr. Shah Haleem. Multicultural entertainment presented by various groups. Annual Gala has raised about $450,000 to benefit Bangladesh-American Center.
We still need much more funds to complete Bangladesh-American Center.
Gala coordinators were Shah Haleem, and Khaled "Zulfiqur" Khan and program director Dr. Rafiq Khan and Afzal Ahmed.
